Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901) was an Italian operatic composer known for such masterpieces as La Traviata, Il Trovatore, and Rigoletto.
The Verdi beard is well-groomed, closely trimmed, highly stylish, and sophisticated.
In Norway, defending champ Karl Roos (rhymes with “gross,” not “goose”) from Switzerland successfully defended the world title he won in Anchorage. More recently, Roos settled for bronze at the 2012 USA-Nationals in Las Vegas, where American phenom Jeffrey Moustache took gold. Moustache took silver at the 2013 Nationals in New Orleans.
Moustache (pictured below) will be in Leinfelden-Echterdingen on November 2, hoping for a win over Roos this time. He may have to trim of some of his beard to satisfy the strict German rules.
Note: The 2013 World Beard and Moustache Championships will be conducted in accordance with the official Rules and Regulations of the Association of German Beard Clubs. The description set forth above is an unofficial English translation.
