Viva Las Vegas! The 2012 BTUSA National Championships.

The third annual Beard Team USA National Beard and Moustache Championships will take place on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The amphitheater, with lawn seating for 3000 beardsmen and their fans, is located ¾ mile from the world-famous Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino, which will serve as host hotel for the event.

The competition is open to everyone, regardless of nationality, experience, or group affiliation.  For the first time in history, the Nationals will utilize the seventeen-category system commonly employed at the World Beard and Moustache Championships. The categories range from the delicate Dali moustache to the anything-goes full beard freestyle.

Online registration and ticket sales will be available within the next few weeks. Registration will be $40. Admission for spectators is $10.

There will be a full schedule of activities for championships weekend, including a poker tournament and the Whiskerinas’ fake beard contest.

  1. Can we see this competition on TV?

  2. I am hoping there will be TV coverage.

  3. when will registrations begin?

  4. We are working on setting up online registration, but I can’t say for sure when it will be ready, certainly well in advance of November. Meanwhile, you can already book your room at the Golden Nugget. Rooms on Friday and Saturday are only $89 per night plus tax. On Wed, Thurs, Sun, and Mon, they are just $45 per night plus tax. These prices could go up at any time, so it is best to book now if you can. Just call 1-800-634-3454 and say you are coming to the National Beard and Moustache Championships (code GSBEARD).

  5. Is it an all-ages event, like the last two Nationals?

  6. Yes, it will be family friendly. Some of the pre-events might be 21+.
