Moustaches come in all shapes and sizes. Any of their owners can compete here as long as they do not use “styling aids” such as wax, gel, or hairspray. Looking at the past winners, it is clear that the judges prefer the solid, the bold, and the big over the small, tamed, and wispy. Not that those with smaller ‘staches shouldn’t enter. Who know who the judges will pick next?

Germany’s Wolfgang Schneider of Belle Moustache took first in this category in Trondhjem, defeating 2009’s champ Kees Lek from Holland who failed to make the podium. Sharing the podium with Schneider were Andreas Rellfelt and Bo Jonsson, both from the Swedish Moustache Club.

After Trondhjem, Schneider competed in the 2012 USA-National Championships in Las Vegas, where he settled for silver. Adam Orcutt took gold and Adam Scott Paul took bronze in Vegas. Pictured here are the Vegas winners (l. to r.) Paul, Orcutt, and Schneider.
