The full beard, styled moustache category is the best of both worlds. To win here one needs a solid, massive, long full beard and a moustache to match.

In Norway, Beard Team USA’s Burke Kenny regained the title he won in Brighton in 2007. Many were surprised when Kenny missed the podium altogether in Anchorage in 2009.

Switzerland’s Albert Schmidt was second and Germany’s Bernd Popiak, 2009’s gold medalist, was third.

Until Brighton 2009, this category belonged to Germany which had swept every podium here except for a second-place finish by American Bruce Hagen in 2003 in Carson City.
